Protect what matters with the BURG-WÄCHTER Diplomat MTD 760 K, a German-engineered security safe designed for customers who want substantial protection with generous interior storage space and the simplicity and reliability of a traditional key lock. Its combination of certified burglary resistance, tested fire protection, and convenient mechanical key access makes it a strong choice for home offices, professional offices, and other settings where important documents and valuables need secure storage.

Why Choose the MTD 760 K?

Certified burglary protection. Independently certified to Resistance Grade I under EN 1143-1, this safe is designed to provide a higher level of protection than an ordinary home security box.

60-minute fire protection for paper. Certified to EN 15659, LFS 60 P, the safe is tested to protect paper contents during the specified fire-resistance period.

High-security mechanical key lock. The SecuSafe double-bit key lock is certified to EN 1300 Class B and VdS Class 2. Its 10-lever locking mechanism offers approximately 50 million possible key combinations, providing substantial security without requiring batteries or electronic programming.

Resettable key security. If a key is lost or stolen, the SecuSafe lock can be reset to work with a new set of keys—without replacing the lock itself. Simply order a replacement key set and follow the video instructions to reset the lock using one of your original working keys. Once reset, the old keys will no longer open the safe. At least one original working key is required to perform the reset.

Reinforced construction. The armored body, extensively reinforced door, multi-sided locking bolts, and concealed hinges are designed to resist forced entry.

Organized storage. Two adjustable shelves help separate documents and valuables inside the safe, providing flexible storage for larger collections and important records.

Is the MTD 760 K Right for You?

Choose this model if you want certified burglary and fire protection for everyday valuables, important paperwork, jewelry, business records, and other items that benefit from additional interior storage space.

The MTD 760 K offers approximately 45% more interior storage capacity than the MTD 750 K, while maintaining the same exterior width and depth. Its additional height and two adjustable shelves make it a practical choice for customers who need more organized storage without increasing the safe's overall floor space.

The MTD 760 K also offers the same certified burglary and fire protection as the MTD 760 E FP, but with a traditional high-security mechanical key lock instead of electronic code and fingerprint access.

The mechanical locking system eliminates the need for batteries, electronic programming, or remembering access codes. The included two keys provide convenient access, while the resettable SecuSafe locking mechanism offers additional security flexibility if a key is lost or stolen, provided you still have an original working key.

Before ordering, compare your largest items with the interior dimensions and door opening, and consider where the safe will be installed.

Deep Dive into the Details

The safe is manufactured in Germany to offer superior protection with certification against attack to ECB.S Grade 1 (EN 1143-1) and 60-minute fire protection according to LFS 60P (EN 15659). The high level of fire protection is achieved with FPC buildup insulation (fire protection concrete) in both the safe body and door. A special intumescent fire swell is added to the door – this seal swells in the event of a fire to seal the door to the body, preventing heat and smoke ingress and protecting valuable contents.

The safes are assembled by hand in a ISO 9001 certified facility. The door and body are manufactured and fitted together at the start of the manufacturing process and remain together through completion. The piece-by-piece construction and hand assembly ensures the highest precision, tightest fit, and best security in the business!

High attack resistance is provided with a triple-walled, extensively armored body and a four-walled inset door with large, strong round locking bolts on all four sides of the door. Extensive reinforcement exists in front of the bolts and locking bolts. Additional armoring is added around the lock casing to prevent drilling attacks, which is further protected with a non-resettable dual emergency bolt system. Additional reinforcement is included in the special back wall construction.

Keyed Diplomat – unique, resettable lock
